BIOGRAPHY

Robert Gales is the Chief Geoscientist at Halliburton’s Geoscience and Production division, bringing more than 35 years of global oil and gas experience. He leads initiatives in reservoir characterization, subsurface data integration, and projects supporting the energy transition.

Robert also serves as the President of SPWLA for 2025–2026 and is a lifetime member of SPE and SPWLA. His career includes senior roles at SLB, Weatherford, and California Resources Corporation, where he advanced formation evaluation and reservoir interpretation across international operations.
