The hydrogen economy is expanding rapidly, with analysts projecting more than US$800 billion in annual revenue by 2050. The sector is expected to employ over five million people, underscoring significant opportunities for geological hydrogen extraction. While the industry currently relies on traditional extraction methods, the first advanced drilling projects, with capacities of up to 100 megawatts, are expected to appear in the coming months. By 2030, conventional methods are projected to be largely replaced. New applications continue to be developed, including hydrogen-powered vehicles, hydrogen for steel production, hydrogen in heavy-duty trucks, hydrogen as an alternative to traditional fuels, and hydrogen as an energy storage medium. Experts estimate that by 2050, 42% of hydrogen demand will come from the industry, while 36% will be driven by transportation.
